Northstar needed to enter a crowded performance apparel market without looking like another technical sportswear brand.
The challenge was to create a visual identity that could communicate performance and ambition while still feeling relevant outside the gym.

The challenge was to create a visual identity that could communicate performance and ambition while still feeling relevant outside the gym.
Approach
We built the brand around a simple idea:
Everyone needs a direction.
The identity combines oversized typography, directional graphics and a restrained technical language to create a system that feels equally at home on a running track, a city street or a digital storefront.

Direction becomes the system
The Northstar identity is built around the idea of movement toward a fixed point.
The visual system uses:
Directional lines
Paths, routes and movement.
Star / compass motif
A simplified Northstar symbol becomes the core graphic device.
Oversized typography
Strong condensed typography gives the brand an athletic editorial quality.
Technical labels
Product information and performance specifications become part of the visual language.
High-contrast photography
Fast movement, hard light, urban environments and close-up material details.
